Are there any hidden charges in Angel One?

By PriyaSahu

No, Angel One does not have any hidden charges beyond its known brokerage and regulatory fees. All standard fees are disclosed clearly in contract notes and account statements.

What Brokerage Is Charged by Angel One?

Angel One charges flat ₹20 per executed order (or 0.1% for delivery and 0.03–0.25% for intraday/F&O/currency, whichever is lower). Delivery trades have no brokerage for first ₹500 in first 30 days. These rates are transparent and reflected in your trade contract note.

What Other Standard Charges Apply?

Government and exchange charges apply on every trade. This includes STT (0.1% on delivery, 0.025% on intraday sell), transaction charges (vary by NSE/BSE), SEBI turnover fee (₹10 per crore), stamp duty (state-based), GST (18% on brokerage & transaction fees), and DP charges (₹20 + GST per debit script).

Is There Any AMC, Maintenance or Hidden Debit?

Demat account opening is free, and AMC (maintenance charges) is waived in the first year. From second year, AMC is ₹60 + GST per quarter (₹240/year). Debit charges for pledge/unpledge, remat, call & trade (₹20/order) are separate and disclosed upfront.

Do Users Report Any Unseen or Unexpected Deductions?

Some users have reported unexplained charges like brokerage debits on zero-quantity trades or automatic pledging fees even without consent. These were addressed after raising support tickets. Angel One’s team claims no hidden fees and issues resolved upon escalation.

“It took around ₹30 for delivery trade even though brokerage was supposed to be ₹0”
“They automatically pledged my shares for margin even without my request”

How Can You Verify Your Charges?

You can view breakdown of all charges in the Angel One app under ‘Account → Trades & Charges’. It shows brokerage, taxes, DP charges, AMC, and any other fees. The brokerage calculator on their website also helps in estimating charges before you trade.
