How do I check IPO allotment status?

By PriyaSahu

When you apply for an Initial Public Offering (IPO), you might be wondering how to check whether your application has been successful and whether you have been allotted the shares you applied for. Checking the IPO allotment status is a simple process, but it requires the correct steps. Here’s how you can easily track your IPO application status and find out whether you’ve been allotted the shares you desired.

1. Visit the Registrar's Website

The first step in checking your IPO allotment status is to visit the website of the registrar handling the IPO. The registrar is responsible for managing applications and allotments. Some popular registrars in India include:

  • Link Intime India
  • KFin Technologies
  • Bigshare Services

On the registrar’s website, look for the section dedicated to IPO allotment status.

2. Find the IPO Allotment Status Section

After navigating to the registrar’s website, locate the "IPO Allotment Status" section. This section is usually clearly marked. Click on the link to begin checking your status.

3. Enter Required Details

To check the IPO allotment status, you will need to provide certain details:

  • Application Number: This is the unique number assigned to you when you applied for the IPO.
  • PAN Number: Your Permanent Account Number (PAN) is required for verification.
  • Demat Account Number: In some cases, you may need to provide your Demat account number as well.

Ensure the details you enter are correct, as any errors can lead to incorrect information or a failed status check.

4. Check Allotment Status

Once you've entered your details, the system will display the status of your IPO application. If you have been allotted shares, the status will indicate the number of shares allotted to you. If you have not received an allotment, the status will show 'Nil'.
