How does Angel One handle IPO refunds?

By PriyaSahu

Angel One handles IPO refunds automatically. If you don’t receive shares in an IPO allotment, your blocked amount is released by the bank as per SEBI rules. You don’t need to do anything from your side. The refund is usually processed through the ASBA system and credited back to your bank account within a few working days.

When Will I Get My IPO Refund Through Angel One?

IPO refunds usually happen within 3 to 5 working days after the allotment date. Angel One doesn't hold your money. The refund is processed by the bank through the ASBA system and is credited back to your bank account directly. You can check your bank statement for the unblocking of funds.

Who Processes the IPO Refund — Angel One or Bank?

Angel One does not process the IPO refund. The refund is done by the bank where you applied using the ASBA (Application Supported by Blocked Amount) method. Once allotment is complete and shares are not given, your blocked amount is automatically unblocked and refunded by the bank.

Why Is My IPO Refund Delayed with Angel One?

If your IPO refund is delayed, it is usually due to a delay from the bank or registrar’s side, not Angel One. Sometimes technical issues or bank holidays can delay the release of blocked funds. If you don’t receive your refund within 7 working days, you should contact your bank or the IPO registrar directly.

Do I Need to Raise a Complaint for IPO Refund with Angel One?

No, in most cases, you don’t need to raise any complaint. The refund is automatic and handled by your bank. But if the amount is not unblocked even after 7 days, you can raise a ticket with Angel One, or directly contact the registrar of the IPO for faster action.

How to Check If IPO Refund Has Been Credited?

You can check your bank account statement to see if the blocked IPO amount has been released. In UPI-based applications, you can also check your UPI app for status. Some banks send SMS or email confirmation when the refund is processed. No refund appears in your demat account — only in your bank.

What to Do If IPO Refund Still Not Received?

If your IPO refund is still not credited after 7 working days, first check with your bank. If the bank has not received any instruction, contact the IPO registrar with your application number. You can also raise a ticket with Angel One for additional support. Keep all details ready like UPI ID, application number, and date of application.
